What counts as a screening?
It isn’t always a film
The data define “screenings” based on the type of work and the manner of admission. Each of the following items counts as one screening.
1. A feature film (40 minutes or longer), including as part of a multi-film block (such as a double feature) with one single admission;
2. A short film (shorter than 40 minutes) in a standalone screening with its own admission;
3. A shorts program, ie a collection of short films with one single admission;
4. A single episode or a multi-episode block of a TV series with one single admission;
5. Attendance at part of a long film screened on a loop and/or as an installation.
A short film screened alongside one or more feature films, with a single admission, does not count as a separate screening (or appear in the data). Neither does a short film screened as an installation.
